What to Wear for Spring Engagement Photos: Dreamy Amazon Dresses for the Bride to Be

If you just got engaged and immediately started spiraling about what to wear for your engagement photos, hi, same. I am currently in full bride mode over here and my first instinct was obviously to go down an Amazon rabbit hole looking for the perfect dress. The good news? I found a lot of really good ones and I am sharing all of them with you today.

For a spring outdoor shoot think golden hour, garden settings, florals, soft natural light. You really want something flowy, romantic, and light enough to move beautifully in photos. White and ivory are classic for a reason, but soft blush, sage, and gingham are also having a major moment for engagement sessions right now.

The Dresses

My absolute favorite of the bunch is the dowerme maxi dress because it just has everything you want for a golden hour shoot. It's lightweight, flowy, and moves so beautifully outdoors. If you want one dress that looks way more expensive than it is, that's the one. The PRETTYGARDEN strapless maxi is another really strong option if you want something a little more clean and editorial, and it comes in multiple colors which is a nice bonus if bright white feels too stark for your skin tone. For something a little more whimsical and cottagecore, the Parthea smocked gingham midi is so charming and photographs with so much texture and personality. I also love the Cudiew satin strapless maxi for the girl who wants to feel a little more polished and dressed up for her session. The pleated satin catches light beautifully and honestly it would double perfectly for an engagement party too.

One thing worth mentioning is that most photographers actually recommend bringing two outfits to your engagement session, one more formal and one casual and fun for the candid shots. The PRETTYGARDEN sleeveless mini is a really cute casual option for exactly that and it is super affordable so it feels like a low stakes add to cart moment.

The Shoes

For shoes I tried to cover a few different budgets because honestly engagement photo shoes do not need to be expensive, they just need to photograph well and not sink into the grass at an outdoor shoot, which happens more than you'd think. The ISNOM bow knot heeled sandals are my whimsical pick because the bow detail is so sweet and on trend right now and they have just enough heel to look polished. If you want something more classic and simple, the DREAM PAIRS strappy heels are under $26 and go with literally everything on this list. And if you want to splurge a little, the Goolita pearl platform heels are stunning and feel very bridal without being over the top.

The Accessories

Keep accessories simple and let the dress do the talking. The PAVOI pearl drop earrings are under $15 and go with every single dress on this list, and the PAVOI love knot bangle is such a sweet detail because you are literally tying the knot, this bracelet just gets it. For a bag I am obsessed with the Pretty Robes Happily Ever After clutch as a photo prop because it is so cute and so on theme. If you want something a little more understated, the QWINEE shell shaped clutch is really pretty and photographs beautifully too.
